본 연구는 생애주기 관점에서 아동기 및 노년기 사회경제적 상황이 노년기 건강궤적에 미치는영향을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 노년기 건강 격차를 완화하기 위한 생애단계별 정책적 시사점을제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널 13차(2018년)부터 18차(2022년)까지5개년 자료를 활용하고, 잠재성장모형 분석을 수행하여 노년기 건강 궤적의 양상과 그 결정요인을살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 노인의 건강 상태는 시간의 흐름에 따라 저하되었고, 개인 간 건강 격차는점차 감소하는 수렴 양상이 나타났다. 조건부 모형 분석결과, 노년기 사회경제적 상황은 노년기건강 초기값에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤고, 아동기 사회경제적 상황은 노년기 상황을 매개로 간접적인영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 건강 초기값을 기준으로 생애주기 관점 모델 중경로 모델을 지지하였다. 본 연구는 이를 바탕으로 아동기 빈곤에 대한 조기 개입, 노인 대상경제적 지원 확대의 정책적 필요성을 제언하였다. 그러나 본 연구는 성인기 사회경제적 상황의영향을 확인할 수 없다는 한계가 있고, 추후 성인기 변수를 포함한 노년기 건강의 영향 경로를살펴보는 후속연구가 필요하다.

This study examines the effects of socioeconomic situations in childhood and old age on older adults’ health trajectories from a life-course perspective and proposes policy implications to reduce health disparities in later life. Using data from the 13th (2018) to the 18th (2022) waves of the Korean Welfare Panel Study, latent growth curve modeling was employed to analyze the patterns of health change and their determinants. The results showed that older adults’ health declined over time, while inter-individual disparities gradually decreased, indicating a convergence pattern.

Conditional model analysis revealed that socioeconomic situation in old age directly affected the initial level of health, whereas childhood socioeconomic situation indirectly influenced health through old age. These findings support the pathway model within the life course framework. Based on these results, this study emphasizes the need for early interventions in childhood poverty and expanded economic support for older adults. However, this study could not account for the effects of adulthood on socioeconomic situations, suggesting that future research should include adult factors to clarify the pathways that influence health in later life.
